Ellen Singer Coleman, LCSW, CGP
I am a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist and certified relational psychoanalyst with 35+ years of advanced training and clinical experience with adults.
Working with individuals from young adulthood through the many stages of life has given me a broad perspective and appreciation of a wide range of concerns and emotional difficulties faced by people throughout adulthood. My extensive experience has prepared me to effectively approach and understand the needs and problems that are unique to each person with whom I work.
I graduated from Syracuse University and then received my masters degree in social work from Hunter College School of Social Work. I became certified in individual and group psychotherapy from The Washington Square Institute For the Study of Psychoanalysis and Mental Health and completed my psychoanalytic training in New York at the Westchester Center For The Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and The Stephen Mitchell Center For Relational Studies.
In 2008 I co-founded the Philadelphia Chapter of The Transition Network, a national non-profit organization to support women over the age of 50 as they experience a variety of life transitions. Since its inception, this chapter has grown to over 300 members.
