About Ellen Singer Coleman, LCSW
Licensed clinical social worker
I have been practicing privately for over thirty years with a primary focus on women’s issues. Working with women from young adulthood through the many stages of life has given me a broad perspective and appreciation of adult female development and how to approach the needs and problems that are unique to women.
I attended Hunter College School of Social work and received individual and group therapy training in New York City at The Washington Square Institute For The Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. I completed my analytic training in New York at the Westchester Center For The Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and The Stephen Mitchell Center For Relational Studies.
In 2008 I co-founded the Philadelphia chapter of The Transition Network, a national non-profit organization to support women over the age of 50 as they experience a variety of life transitions. See thetransitionnetwork.org and click on Philadelphia chapter.
